Challenge Valley - August 2007
Challenge Valley saw well over 4,500 people a day, running the course over a 4 hour period, using the course on 11 consecutive days. As one of the instructors put it on the second day ‘I think the Scout Jamboree is going to test the equipment to a point of destruction’. It may have done, but it all held up with only slight wear and tear, all of which was managed by our team and the spares left by you.

Challenge Valley was a zone at the Gilwell Adventure Day, as part of the off site programme. Gilwell Park is the home of Scouting and the day consist of fun and challenges as well as discovering the history of Scouting and more traditional activities, this is what our Jamboree Director Bill Cockcroft wrote: “The Off Site Programme was exceptional and rated top with the participants! Many people have written and spoken to me about the WSJ being ‘stunning’ and ‘awesome’, so I think we delivered what we were asked to do!”

The World Scout Jamboree was a huge success with the participants and organising staff all having a great sense of achievement. There were almost 30,000 young people as participants who came from 214 countries and territories worldwide, a huge achievement. The success of Challenge Valley and the World Scout Jamboree would not have been possible without all our commercial supporters no matter how big or small their contribution, we thank you for your support.

Norfolk Show
The Royal Norfolk Show, which attracted over 90,000 visitors, provided a great showcase to regionally launch our new product directory and to meet customers both old and new.  Following an absence of over 7 years the show was a great success and provided many opportunities to discuss projects from simple maintenance issues to complete new community playareas.

Green Biomass Energy
We have recently invested in biomass energy, which will utilise our organic waste material to provide warm air heating and energy for our factory. The system is the final stage of developing our eco manufacturing process which includes material choice, procurement, optimising materials and delivery, lean manufacturing and reprocessing waste into bio energy minimising our demand on fossil fuels and non green energy.

A free planning guide will soon be available either in PDF and hard copy format. The guide can be used to design trim trail and fitness trail layouts and will provide a vital aid for schools when including children in the planning process. Why not turn the planning process into a competition?

Tree for life Project
As part of our continued commitment to our environment impact policy we are offering a free Oak, Ash, or Maple tree with every trim trail installed. Our tree offer combined with using materials from only managed sustainable resources provides a balance between the need to use natural material and sustaining our eco environment. The deciduous tree also provides a living education resource where children can learn about seasons, changes in colours and understand how trees mature.   Why not visit our Tree for Life project page and see organisations, which are activity taking part.
